Fellowship Training

A fellowship is a period of training that is highly specific to a category of medicine. Dr. Sawyer spent one entire year after residency in a dermatologic surgery fellowship in southern California. There she spent intensive uninterrupted time gaining knowledge about the most advanced techniques in procedural dermatology and perfecting her surgical skills. Dr. Sawyer is now on faculty for advanced cosmetic and surgical courses where she teaches other dermatologists how to help patients make choices about these procedures and how to perform the procedures.

Dr. Sawyer is Board Certified by the American Board of Dermatology and is a member of the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery, the American Academy of Dermatology. the American Society of Laser Medicine and Surgery , the American Acadamy of Cosmetic Surgery and the American Society for Mohs Surgery.

Dr. Sawyer has personally trained numerous physicians on Botox, Radiesse, Restylane, Sculptra, and other non-invasive procedure techniques. Several companies, including Allergan (makers of Botox Cosmetic & Juvederm), and Candela Laser consult with Dr. Sawyer for her expertise in product development and training.
